Chase ends with wreck involving Thorndale police
Thorndale Police Chief Fred Ke efer, a nd re ser ve of f ic er Michael Moehling, escaped serious injury last Wednesday when their cruiser was in a head-on crash on a county road ending a pursuit which originated in Rockdale.
Keefer, 38, and Moehling, 29, were treated at Richards Memorial Hospital, following the crash on County Road 443, northeast of Thorndale. Full Story

TUESDAY CRASH Seven persons, six in the car and one in the truck, escaped serious injury at 11:19 a.m. Tuesday in this two-vehicle collision at the US 77-FM 908 intersection south of Rockdale. Full Story
‘Open range’ a problem for sheriff’s department
Shades of the old west.
The Milam County Sheriff’s Department routinely answers a handful of loose livestock calls over a week but between Aug. 24 and 31 there were 27 of them.
Six of the calls were reported last Wednesday, all but one in the Rockdale area.
The calls, however, were to all parts of the county.
