Home is where the wins are and according to their new 2010 schedule, the Rockdale Tigers plan to take full advantage of that mantra with six home games.

Lady Tigers drop district openers
Plenty of hitting, defensive lapses hurt chances
In opening district play, the Rockdale Lady Tigers had plenty of hits to go around, but 11 errors in two games were too much for the bats to overcome.
The Lady Tigers dropped their second straight District 24-3A contest Tuesday night on the road to Madisonville 5-3.
Rockdale dropped to 8-7 on the season and have dropped four straight. Full Story

On an “unofficial” recruiting trip to Coll ege Station last Thursday, Aggie Coach Mike Sherman declined to offer Rockdale lineman L eR aven Clark a scholar- ship, but he was invited to come back and attend their summer camp. Full Story
Tigers open district play by mashing Madisonville
Schnerr spearheads 14-hit attack
The Rockdale Tigers got off on the good foot to open District 24- 3a play by mashing Madisonville 13-2 Tuesday night on the road.
The Tigers improved to 6-5 on the year.
Led by Dillan Schnerr, Rockdale pounded out 14 hits and played error-free baseball in the league opener. Full Story
Lady Dogs aiming for third straight district championship
Thorndale outslugs Academy in season opener
Thorndale outscored guest Academy 11-6 Friday in Lady Dogs’ season opening softball game on Friday.
The Lady Dogs had an open date Tuesday and look to open up District 27-A play on Friday at rival Thrall. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
Thorndale is coming off backto back district championships and four straight trips to the postseason. Full Story
Rusty Lady Eagles finally hit the field
Milano hadn’t faced a team in nine days
It has been a long wait, but the Milano Lady Eagles finally got to play a game Tuesday night after having two games canceled and not hitting the playing field since Feb. 27.
Their game with Somerville on March 1 was canceled due to wet weather and a game in Bremond on March 5 was called due to a schedule conflict with the opposing team. Full Story

March is national athletic training month
The month of March marks the 9th Annual celebration of National Athletic Training month.
This year’s theme for the 30,000 members of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) is “Sports Safety Is A Team Effort.”

Rising Star Baptist Church has scheduled its annual Golf Classic at Blackhawk Golf Course, in Pflugerville, on Saturday, March 27, at 1 p.m.
