Reunions

Camp
 Celebration of the life of Emory C. Camp, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale.
 He was born April 8, 1939, in Cameron to Emory B. and Essie McCall Camp.
 Mr. Camp graduated Yoe High School in Cameron in 1957 and the University of Texas in 1962.
 He was licensed to practice law in September 1965 and joined the Camp family law practice that same year.
 Emory and Connie Herbert, his beloved wife of 45 years, were married on Dec. 28, 1962. Together they raised three children.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Camp served on numerous local boards of directors including serving as president of the Rockdale ISD Board of Education for over 16 years. During this time, he was instrumental in the vision and construction of Rockdale Junior High School.
 As president and chairman of the board of directors of the Rockdale Hospital Authority, Mr. Camp chaired efforts to secure funding to create Richards Memorial Hospital. For years he remained dedicated in service to the hospital and the medical services it provided Rockdale residents.
 Mr. Camp served on the board of directors for both Rockdale State Bank and Citizens National Bank. He was on the boards of the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, Rockdale Country Club, the Southern Milam County United Way and Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library.
 Mr. Camp was a member of the State Bar of Texas and Milam County Bar Association. In addition, he was an active member of the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from 1965-75 and was an honorary lifetime member.
 In 1987, Mr. Camp was honored as Outstanding Citizen by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce.
 Survivors are his wife, Connie; daughter and son-in-law Kelley and Kyle McBee of Rockwall; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Greg Wright of Longview; son and daughter-in-law Emory D. and Kristen Camp of Dallas; his grandchildren, Katherine and Payden McBee, Jordan and Meredith Wright, Emory E., Ashley and Kaitlyn Camp; a sister, Kay Johnston of Knoxville, TN; and a brother, James Camp of Cameron.
 Visitation was scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.
 Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library in Rockdale.

Madewell
 CAMERON—Funeral services for Colin “Chase” Madewell, infant son of James and Ashley Madewell of Cameron, were held  Friday, May 2, 2008, at Mount Zion Baptist Church near Minerva with Rev. Larry Griffith officiating. Burial followed in Mount Zion Cemetery.
 Chase died Sunday, April 26, in a Temple hospital.
 Survivors include his parents; a sister, Dakota Madewell of Cameron; his grandparents, James and Debbie Madewell of Fort Worth, Linda and Chris Webb of Decatur, Bruce and Bettye Jo Watson of Thorndale; his great-grandparents, Walter and Pansy Giles of Decatur, Dale and Corine Watson of Grand Prairie and Betty Wilson of Temple; an aunt, Kati Watson of Thorndale; and an uncle, R.G. Leger of Cherokee Village, AR.

Mamaliga
 CAMERON—Funeral services for Gloria Mamaliga, 83, of Cameron and formerly of College Station were held Monday, May 5, 2008, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Chris Norton officiating.
 Graveside services were Tuesday, May 6, at College Station Cemetery.
 Mrs. Mamaliga died Friday, May 2, at her home.
 A homemaker, she was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Chicago.
 She married Emil Mamaliga and he preceded her in death in 1984. Her son, Paul Mamaliga, also preceded her in death in 1992.
 Mrs. Mamaliga was a member of the History Club in Cameron. She was also a Pink Lady, was involved with the exercise group of the Gold Medallion at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and was a member of the Women’s Social Club at Texas A&M.
 Survivors include a daughter, Beth Stillwell and husband John of Cameron; four grandchildren, Tyler Stillwell, Jessica Stillwell, Bryan Mamaliga and Andrew Mamaliga; also, a great-grandchild.

Patschke
 THORNDALE—Allen Ray Patschke, 73, of Thrall and lifetime resident of the Taylor area died Thursday, May 1, 2008.
Services were Monday, May 5, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale with Rev. James Mann officiating. Burial followed in St. Paul Cemetery.
 He was born Jan. 8, 1935, to Paul and Alma Selma (Leschber)  Patschke in Holland.
 On Nov. 14, 1954 he married Joyce Kieschnick.
 Mr. Patschke was the owner/operator of Taylor Electric Supply in Taylor for 27 years.
 He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale and was an associate member of the Thrall and Thorndale Volunteer Fire departments.
 Mr. Patschke was preceded in death by his father, Paul; a sister, Lavern Wuthrich; and two brothers-in-law, Herbert Wuthrich and Norman Kieschnick.
 Survivors are his wife, Joyce Patschke of Thrall; a daughter, Janee Laffere and husband Larry of Thorndale; a son, Darrell Patschke and wife Roxanne of Taylor; his mother, Alma Leschber Patschke of Taylor; five grandchildren, Teri Marek and husband Blake, Jon Laffere, Nahum Ray Patschke, Faith Patschke and Keith Rohlack and wife Angela; a brother, Harvey Patschke and wife Norma of Taylor; a sister-in-law, Peggy Kieschnick of Hamlin; a brother-in-law Wilbert Kieschnick and wife Ruby of Taylor.
 Memorials may be made to Our Forever Family at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thorndale or charity of choice.
 Pallbearers were Jon Laffere, Blake Marek, Keith Rohlack, Larry Kieschnick, Eric Kieschnick, Tony Patschke and Billy Carlson.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Eulenfeld, Jimmy Pruesse, Emil Kasper, David Betak, Jerry Korn,  Ernest Patschke and
Willie Meyer.


Wenzel
 Rev. Dr. August Emil Wenzel, age 72, died following a lengthy struggle with cancer on May 5, 2008. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and then on Friday, May 9, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the family receiving friends on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. William Lange and Rev. Tim Bauerkemper officiating.
 A reception will follow in the Life Enrichment Center. Private committal services will be held at a later date.
  Rev. Dr. Wenzel was born in Milam County Texas on January 26, 1936, the first child of Walter and Lenora Dornhoeffer Wenzel. He graduated from Rockdale High School in 1953 and continued his education at Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, earning his bachelor’s degree in communications in 1957. He then went to seminary at Trinity Seminary/Capital University in Columbus Ohio interning at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beatrice, Nebraska before graduating Trinity Seminary/Capital University with a Master of Divinity Degree and being ordained as a Lutheran Pastor at his home church, Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale, Texas in June 1961.
  Mr. Wenzel also served and studied in Nashville, Tennessee, Chicago, Illinois, and Seguin, where he became director of the Lutheran Institute for Religious Studies.
  In 1978 he was elected Bishop, of the Southern District of the American Lutheran Church (ALC), a region which encompassed Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and part of New Mexico, a position he held for 12 years, during which time he also served two terms as President of the National Council of Bishops of the ALC.
 He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Wenzel, and by his first wife, Barbara Ann Fisher Wenzel. He is survived by his wife Gail; his sons David(wife Lori), Louis(wife Ronda), and Michael(wife Janis); grandchildren, Steven, Benjamin, Mason, Holly, Lydia, Grace, and Jackson; mother, Lenora Dornhoeffer Wenzel Jackson of Clifton; sister, Edna Faye Dietrich and Husband D.R.; numerous nephews and nieces. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Rakes, Eric Carlson, Layne Hoppe, Brad Rakes, Harold Bogisch, Ron Schmidt, Giddings Dietrich and Keith Lee.

Wilkinson
 Services for Kristoffer Lee Wilkinson, 34, of College Station, formerly of Rockdale, were held Friday, May 2, 2008, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Wampler of First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
 Mr. Wilkinson died Monday, April 28, at Seton Medical Center in Austin.
 A College Station resident for the past three years, he was born May 20, 1973, in Corpus Christi to Tommy T. Wilkinson and Sharon Lee Roberts.
 He married Sabrina Anderson and was a plumber for two years with Robinson Plumbing in College Station.
 Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Wilkinson; a daughter, Tinka Morris; and his grandfather, Clark Roberts.
 Survivors are his wife, Sabrina Wilkinson of College Station; his mother, Sharon Roberts of Rockdale; his grandmother, Johnnie Sue Roberts of Rockdale; two daughters, Lacy Wilkinson of Lufkin and Heather Donaldson of College Station; a grandson, Aiden Prado of College Station; a brother, Jeremiah Byerly and wife Amber of Rockdale; two sisters, Robin Good and husband Curtis of Milano and Jonna Wilkinson of Rockdale; three uncles, Doug, Kevin and Steven Roberts; and an aunt, Anne Duke.
 Pallbearers were Keith Caffey, Seth Young, Gene Gilbert, Mike Romcheck, Matt Glover and Kaden Roberts.
 Honorary pallbearers were Mike Anderson, Douglas Roberts and James Young.
