As we come to the close of another memorable school year, students, staff and parents have mixed emotions on the year that has passed.

Milano ISD school year was excellent, challenging
Where has the time gone? It seems just like yesterday we were in August watching football and volleyball practice as we prepared for the start of the school year.
Yet, here we are at the end of the 2014–2015 school year. This school year has been excellent as well as challenging.

July 2015 exit-level TAKS exams ahead
Rockdale High School will offer the TAKS Exit Level Exams in July 2015 for Out-of-School (OOS) examinees.
Tests dates are July 6 (ELA), July 7 (Math), July 8 (Science) and July 9 (Social Studies). Full Story
The Rockdale High School Big Blue Band participated in the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest, on May 23, at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville and director Adrian Acevedo announced the following results:

PEEBLES SCHOLARSHIP—Hayleigh Lagrone (R), student at Blinn College Bryan is recipient of the Thursday Reading Club’s $500 Bootsie Peebles Memorial Scholarship for 2015. The scholarship goes annually to a student pursuing a degree in the medical field. Making the presentation was Annette Stone, who was a member of the scholarship committee, along with Lois Fry and Peggy Cooke. Full Story
Whitworth named to President’s List KERRVILLE--Schreiner University has named Zoe Layne Whitworth of Thorndale to its President’s List for the Spring 2015 term.
To qualify for the President’s List, full-time students must earn at least a 3.75 grade point average and have at least 12 hours credit for the term. Full Story

Bankston, Churchman top Thorndale grads
THORNDALE—Dillon Bankston is the valedictorian and Emily Churchman salutatorian of the 47-member graduating class of Thorndale High School, according to Jenny Dickerson, counselor.
Bankston, the son of George and Kandace Bankston, compiled a 106.61 average during his four-year THS career.
Averages higher than 100 are possible due to weighted honors courses. Full Story
Pugh, Morehead lead Milano Class of 2015
MILANO—Sabian Pugh is the valedictorian and Myka Morehead salutatorian of the 47-member graduating class of Thorndale High School, according to Courtney Todd, counselor.
Pugh, the son of Josh Pugh compiled a 4.31176 average during his fouryear MHS career.
