Malish ‘comes home’ to local postmaster job
Open door policy her plan for Rockdale

Betty Malish, a 20-year Rockdale Post Office veteran, has been named postmaster of the local post office. Malish began serving as postmaster on Feb. 2.
“It’s good being home,” said Malish, who makes her home in Thrall.
After 20 years in the local office, her first postmaster stint was in Buckholts and she had spent the past year as Holland postmaster.
She plans no big changes at the 1930s-era office, but said “we want to serve our customers the best we can.”
“I also want customers to know my door is always open for complaints, or compliments, which are nice to get from time to time,” Malish said.
