O THER A CTI N The economics of the Ben Milam Solar Proj ect were discussed. It is estimated that they will spend $5.5 million on the pro ect and create 14 permanent j obs. Taxable sales and purchases in Milam County will exceed $15 million. Ad valorem taxes for the county will reach almost $19 million.
The Winstone (Bitmain) proj ect was also discussed. With an initial capital investment of $50 million, the blockchain leader will produce 250 construction j obs to retrofit uildinjs machiner and etuipment. event|-five full time oes ill e created in this first phase.
In the second phase of operations another $38 million will be invested creating 150 construction j obs and 55 more full time j obs by mid 2020.
There is a second solar company called the Athena Solar Proj ect. In addition to solar energy, the company will also create a large storage facility.
These two solar proj ects will make Milam County the largest producer of solar energy in Texas.
