2018: Cheerfulness always breaks through

Funny how the simple act of the year turning over into a new one can make us a little queasy.

I suppose the reasons are obvious. Seeing the numbers change reminds us of our own mortality.

We realize that we are getting older and that, compared to the previous New Year’s, we are all one year closer to our own, well youknow.
