3rd state title game involved no work for me

There are a few of us old hides still around that experienced all three of Rockdale’s trips to the UIL state finals in football.

First one was in 1962, at what is now the UT-Arlington stadium. I was on the sideline with a camera for that one, in my third year as this paper’s “news editor.” That’s a fancy title for someone who covers all the general news and sports, takes the photos, writes the headlines and captions, and sweeps out the joint on Saturdays.
