SHOOTING SPORTS—

Here are a couple of 4-Hers introducing our shooting sports program:

This is Paxton Reisner and Addie Reisner from Milam County 4-H Shooting Sports and we would like to pass along some information about Milam County Shooting Sports and shooting sports in general.

Shooting sports are an excellent way to meet some amazing people and make friends across the nation.

You can start shooting when you are eight years old or in the third grade.

There are many different disciplines that you can compete in: air pistol, air rifle, smallbore pistol, small-bore rifle, shotgun, muzzle loading, compound archery, recurve archery and hunting and wildlife.

Being in shooting sports is an excellent way to meet and compete with people from all over the state from Amarillo to Corpus Christi and from Houston to El Paso.

There are competitions held all year long for all disciplines.

Texas also takes a full team to the National Invitational in Nebraska every year. There are also college scholarships available when you shoot on the collegiate level.

4-H Shooting Sports is a great organization for kids to get into.

It teaches them discipline and the respect for safety.

4-H Shooting Sports gives kids the opportunity to learn some valuable lessons and meet some amazing people.

We will meet at 2 p.m. April 7 at the New Salem Building at Fair Park in Rockdale. Come join us and learn more about 4-H Shooting Sports.
