The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a lightning strike in the 1700 block of Highland Street at 2:21 p.m.e Friday afternoon during a brief, but violent, thunderstorm which quickly dropped 1.26 inches of rain at Rockdale s official weather gauge at KRXT-FM. On Monday the RVFD went to Cameron to assist at a house fire in that city which led to the death of a Cameron woman. Reporter/Mike Brown
