Join us for a book signing and presentation by Dr. Dennis Brooks at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2.
“A Church Named Ruth” by Dr. Brooks is about the book of Ruth in the Old Testament.
His focus is on the church and how she should guard her spirit, protect the anointing, prepare for kingdom advancement and focus on living a Godly life.
The book shows how the church is a representation of Ruth’s life.
Dr. Dennis L. Brooks Sr. graduated from the American School of Marketing in San Francisco.
He attended the University of New Mexico, majoring in sociology and physical education. He also attended El Centro College, majoring in mid-management.
Dr, Brooks was employed with Western Electric Company/Lucent Technology from 1965 to 1985.
He accepted the call to ministry in 1978 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he was licensed and ordained. He pastored Springfield Baptist Church in Rock-dale, from 1980 to 1985.
Dr. Brooks earned numerous degrees including a PhD from Minnesota Graduate School of Theology and San Antonio Theological Seminary, and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity, from Christian Bible College.
Dr. Brooks is the senior pastor and founder of New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church, the founder and President of the Institute for Teaching God’s Word Theological Seminary, the American Academy of Crisis Counseling.
Dr. Brooks, and his wife, Clara Brooks, have hosted “Crisis Counseling” Workshops in many cities and states throughout North America, and established schools with ministries from the American Samoa Islands, have traveled to Brussels, Belgium, Germany and Paris, France, to establish schools and curriculum for ministers from the Congo, as well as establishing a Bible School on the Island of Dominica.
