CHAMBER CHAT

Thanks to the Chamber Ambassadors, Renaissance Villa, Kindred Hospice, iTigers and the Girls Scouts for helping and participating in our Community Easter Egg Hunt.

BUSINESSES—Our Business of the Month this month is Rockdale Building Materials, owned by Greg Brinkley, located at 108 South Main, and can be reached at 512-446-5884.

FLAGS—For American or Texas Flags, for business or personal use, the American Legion is selling them

FIRST FRIDAY—Our First Friday Coffee at the Library is June 7h and is sponsored by Crown Garden Club.

FREE FOOD—Every first and third Thursday the Capital Food Bank Truck is at the KC Hall.

Volunteers are needed to help set up, unload and distribute food. It’s a great opportunity for school kids needing Community Service for school. For more information, contact the Chamber and 512-446-2030.

MARKET—Market on Main is on June 8 and every Saturday, downtown at the Historical I&GN Depot. It’s free. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday. Call 512-446-2030 for spots.

Also Saturday is the 18th Annual MARC Run and Barbecue Fundraiser at the Ranch. Serving is 11:30 a.m. until gone. Auction starts and 4:30.

Sunday is Rockdale Homecoming at the Patterson Civic Center and all are invited for coffee and donuts at 9:30 a.m. and lunch at 12:30 p.m.

FATHERS DAY—June 15-16 is Fathers Day Weekend, as a personal note, I would like to wish every Father a Happy Fathers Day.

I miss mine every day, but was very fortunate to have him as long as we did. He was the Best.

COOKOFF—The Thorn-dale VFD 29th Annual Barbecue Cookoff is June 21-22 with Roger Creager playing on Friday and Cory Morrow on Saturday night with fireworks.

FOURTH OF JULY—

Rockdale will host Fourth of July Fireworks this year at Fair Park, with kids games from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wristbands are $5.

Fireworks display at dusk is free to the public. From 6 to 10 p.m. there will be all kinds of food vendors, music and Fireworks at dusk.
