FALLING FAR FROM THE TREE
Along time ago, my father stopped using political car toons on the editorial page and instead decided to use the artwork of students in Rockdale ISD. Lani Young is the art teacher for Rockdale Junior High School, and she is very good about sending me lots of good student artwork.
I just found out that she and Lacy Barcak and Deedra Rawls are sisters. I had no idea. But I’m probably the last to know.
Anyway, be sure to check out the watercolor art she sent me last week. The students are very talented, and I wanted to showcase their art in color. See it on page 6B. My favorite is the one by Roan Obando-Rangel. Which is your favorite?
I remember taking a watercolor course in high school or junior high. It was just a part of the art class I was taking which I remember also included sculpture. I made Mom and owl which now sits outside in Noelia’s front flowerbed. I was definitely not as good as these kids at watercolor.

Some of the are packaged pancake mix, Cracker Jacks, Cream of Wheat, Hershey’s Chocolate, Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, Quaker Oats, Shredded Wheat, hand-held hot dogs, Juicy Fruit gum, the dishwasher, the Ferris wheel, spray paint, the typewriter and zippers.
