U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) visited Milam County for the first time on Feb. 21.
Local leaders updated Sen. Cornyn on the impact of federal COVID-19 relief funding and what it has accomplished in their communities.
They also applauded his efforts to provide flexibility for funding transportation and infrastructure projects with unspent COVID relief dollars through the Cornyn-Padilla bill.
Finally, they shared updates on current public health priorities as well as economic development initiatives within the region.
Sen. Cornyn also got a first hand look at Whinstone.
