February was observed as Career and Technical Education Month in the Rockdale ISD.
Britina Pesak, CTE director for the Rockdale ISD, said the month’s theme was “Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow.”
She said approximately 94 percent of high school students, and 13 million post-secondary students are engaged in CTE courses in the United States.
Pesak noted nearly one-third of the fastest growing occupations will require an associate degree or a post-secondary technical certification.
“At a time when opportunity for employment is so critical, CTE programs in every community are ensuring students are adequately equipped with necessary skills and education,” she said.
