Dear editor, I appreciate the Milam County Community Health Summit that Judge Whitmire convened on November 9, 2023, not so long ago. With panels on programs in the schools, behavioral health medical providers, law enforcement, and Central Texas Counties, we saw true concern and cooperation among our public servants which continues to this day. Thank you for shining a light on what is working.

During the Christian season of Lent, we search our hearts to deny temptations as Jesus did in the 40 days in the desert to prepare for his death on the cross and Resurrection. God’s Grace enables us to see Christ in all. Let us be mindful to choose words always of dignity and respect of ourselves and others.
