Dear editor, My name is Betty (Key) Alford. This is some information about who settled at and around Gee Mountain. (Reporter story last week). Alfred Lafayette (A.L) Gee was was my great grandfather. He was born in 1860 in Caldwell He is buried in the Black Jack Cemetery. He lived most of his life on Gee Prairie which is at Gee Mountain. He and Matilda (Cherry) Gee married in December, 1885, and lived on their farm on Gee Prairie, They had 10 children, nine boys and one girl. She died at the age of seven. One of those 9 boys was my grandfather, Aaron Gee. A.L. was the son of the Gee pioneer family, his father being an early settler in Burleson County. Gee Prairie and Gee Mountain were named in his honor. Betty Key Alford Black Jack
