We had such a nice Christmas, and it was great to have four days off. Friday night after everyone arrived in town, we had our annual tamalada at Noelia’s house. If you’re not familiar with that word, it’s a party where tamales are made and tequila shots are taken. At least that’s what we do.

Because of everyone’s schedules we had our Christmas dinner on Saturday around 2 p.m. Dad grilled steaks, Noelia made baked potatoes and rolls, and Mom made a big salad. I bought the steaks and seasoned them for Dad. Boy were they delicious. After that we pretty much just lazed around all evening with football and such.

On Sunday we went to the Christmas eve service at St. John’s Methodist church and were lazy again. Everyone went home after that.

No day was as lazy as Mom, Dad and I were on Christmas day. We enjoyed the quiet. I did laundry and that was the most I moved all day.

It’s kind of nice that we don’t have littles anymore. We weren’t very present-y this year. I informed everyone at Christmas dinner on Saturday that they should really enjoy their steak because they weren’t getting anything else from me, and everyone seemed happy with that. —kwc— And here are some facts about the great state of Texas that you might not know: The triangular region framed in by the cities of Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio is experiencing a wave of growth of historic proportions more than anywhere in the world.
