Kitten was personal ‘Christmas miracle’
Body

Dear editor,

This little kitten was found on a sparsely populated county road.

One of my granddaughters was riding with me when we spotted this tiny little fellow

hunkered down in the middle of the road.

When we stopped he bounded towards the car, but when we tried to pick him up he spat and jumped and ran under and then up into the undercarriage of my car.

Four different Good Samaritans tried to retrieve him to no avail.

Finally I was told you are just going to have to drive. I drove. And I prayed. For 192.4 miles.

We would think he was gone and then we would hear him mewling pitifully. Twenty-four hours later at Rockdale CarQuest where I had scheduled new tires, Doug Wilde and the crew looked for and found the kitty.

They fed him and got him a box and lined it with an old work shirt then they rounded up some cat food and fed him.

When they called me my car was ready and they had found the kitten none the worse for wear actually, we were thrilled.

If it is indeed a boy, he shall be called Hitch, if a girl Trippy Noel.

We considered a variety of names, Miracle, Axle, Roadie, Road Trip, and Joy. Anyway, it may seem a small thing, but miracles happen every day and we think this was ours.

One of the guys at Car-Quest said where he was hiding he could have gotten out or fallen out at any time.

He just couldn’t be reached because the car had to be on a lift to do so. Merry Christmas,

Jeanie Mundine
