Dear editor, As a Minister/Pastor of Street Ministries 25:40, there are a lot who view our ministry as not being one that does much to help our homeless get off the street. Over the last 4-5 years we have been able to get eight of our “homeless” off the street and back either with family or back on their feet.

We have taken three to rehab that needed help with substance abuse. We always want to help anyone who comes into our building when we can. Sometimes we don’t have the funds or volunteers to handle some of the issues we are confronted with.

Have we had issues with illegal drugs being brought into the building? Yes, but at the same time we have handled that issue. We have had to call on law enforcement to help remove people from our facilities.

All I can say is welcome to being a ministry that is in the trenches with people who have lost hope, their way and faith. It isn’t easy, but God never said it would be.

Along with our helping homeless, we also have transported individuals or families to doctor appointments in Temple, Round Rock, College Station and locally. We help with prescription meds for the elderly, handicapped and others who find themselves with little funds.

We help with food needs, shelter when it gets cold and have helped the Rockdale Police Department with help getting rooms for ones they are not sure where to place in the middle of the night.

The city has been able to share our number with those in the community who are needing help with cleaning up their property. Most of our help comes from those who are homeless. Yard mowing is free through our ministry to our elderly, handicapped, single parents, etc. who need help.

Street Ministries 25:40 has been called on to pick up individuals who have had to go to the ER, but find no ride home. Sometimes this happens late at night. As anyone can see we not only help our homeless, but anyone in our community that needs help or support. Oh, and we do offer Bible Study as well.

Soon we will be re-opening our gift shop that will comprise mostly of items made by people in our community. From SM2540 gear to homemade key rings, bracelets, coffee cups, walking sticks/canes to other items made by people in our town!

We ask that you come and visit us, if you really want to see a ministry that is 24/7 365 of helping our community, and county. Blessed to be a blessing by doing real church in the real world.

Sincerely, Jason Hale streetministries2540@ yahoo.com
