Nursing home seeking gifts for its residents
Dear editor,
Many of our residents at Renaissance Villa don’t have families or anyone in their lives that are able to provide necessities such as shirts, pants, socks or life’s simple little pleasures such as perfumes, body washes, makeup, shaving cream and more.
Thursday, Dec. 20, we’re having our residents’ Christmas Party and we’d like to shower them with lots of gifts of things they need and want.
Smiles on their faces and the excitement in their eyes make it well worth it. For some, especially those suffering from Alzheimer’s, just that one moment of joy opening Christmas presents makes all the difference in the world to them.
That one moment could trigger a Christmas memory from childhood with their parents or when they were newlyweds or with their first child.
We are also asking for monetary donations to make this Christmas special. A donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated and will go towards gifts, decorations, and supplies.
We also have an “Angel Tree” for individualized residents in the most need of clothes and shoes.
For all angels, please wrap and attach the angel (name up) to each gift and we will come and pick them up for your convenience unless you’d like to bring it by.
If you’d like more angels, they’re hanging on our tree at Renaissance Villa at 700 Dyer St. or we can bring them to you as well.
On behalf of our residents and staff at Renaissance Villa, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. and have a very Merry Christmas.
Sincerely,
A.J. Rios, Activity Director 512-446-2548
