Mayor, city manager made first ‘jail break’
Dear editor, On March 30 the first jail break at our new Rockdale Police Station occurred. The mayor (John King) and the city manager (Chris Whittaker) locked themselves in a cell and couldn’t get out. They were in there approximately an hour when a worker from outside happened to notice them locked inside. Without taking pictures of them like I would have done, he immediately tried to get them out. The worker took a piece of metal and forced it between the jam and the lock and let the two jail birds out. They seem to be ever so grateful. Sam Farley, 1918 County Road 335 Rockdale
