Dear editor:

I hear people talk about how bad the youth of today are, they’re lazy, you can’t trust them and all they want to do is play their video games.

Well, I’ve been hearing that since I was a kid, except for the video games part.

My experience at the RISD Veterans Day program proves that to be a myth. If you were there, you would have heard the elementary and middle schools singing about the USA. You would have heard the Junior high and high school combine bands to honor our country and it’s veterans.

You would have seen the high school students honoring our country and ushering the veterans in.

You would have seen the junior high students serving our veterans lunch. You would have seen some fine respectful young men and women.

To these fine young men and women, this veteran says thank you.

Thank you for what you did and thank you for serving me lunch. To the RISD and it’s staff, thank you for the program. It was moving and inspiring.
