Dear editor,
When I was either a junior or senior at Rock-dale High I coached a Cub League team, playing where the hospital sits now.
Two of my players were from Milano, David and Robbie Westbrook. I was not surprised to see the success of those two in Milano today, one the superintendent and one a state champion track coach.
They were two of the most well-mannered “yes sir” kids. It was almost like they were faking it, but they weren’t.
They came by it honestly as their mother and father led by example.
It makes me feel good to see how they have given back to the place where they were raised and they should be proud.
Congratulations to the 2018 Milano state champion track team and to those two “boys” who grew up to be successful at what they do.
