(Editor’s note: I am always happy to report on all of your projects and especially this one which highlights Rockdale’s vibrant African American business community starting in 1872 with upwards of 50 churches and thriving businesses that served both the neighborhood and the surrounding area. This was also the first historical preservation grant issued for Rockdale’s East Ward. Readers can see the storyboard at the east end of Sumuel Park in the shade of the largest cottonwood tree in Milam County.)
