When the guests had arrived, little Miss Ray Beasley passed the score cards, which with their yellow pumpkins and spooky cats further carried out the idea of Halloween. Guests were served with refreshments consisting of chicken salad, pimento sandwiches, brow bread sandwiches, stuffed prunes, cheese straws, dill pickles, iced tea, marshmallow cream and pineapple cake. Favors were small yellow and black baskets filled with mints. During the serving of refreshments, the hostess presented each guest with a corsage bouquet of sunburst roses and ferns.
