The Commissioners Court of Milam County in session last Thursday, in response to petition, issued an election order calling for a road bond election in the Rockdale good roads district. The amount of the bonds called for is $75,000, and the date of the election was set for Saturday, April 26. The bonds are thirty-year serials, bearing interest at 5.5 percent, interest payable semi-annually. The following voting boxes are concerned: Rockdale, Sandy Creek, Hamilton Chapel, Oak Hill, Bethlehem, Bushdale, San Andres, Oakville and Gay Hill. Interest in this election has been widespread and the sentiment is all favorable. Probably no bond election has ever been called in the county which was looked upon with greater favor. Everybody wants good roads.
