Saturday afternoon little Misses Mabel Louise Davenport and Nellie Gray Pruett celebrated with a birthday party at the home of Mrs. J.T. Pruett, Mabel Louise having reached her 12th milestone, while Nellie Gray was six. The home was decorated in Hallowe’en colors, and the large gathering of children enjoyed frolicking and games until a late hour, when they were invited into the dining room. The two birthday cakes, all aglow with pink tapers were placed at either end of the table and elicited the admiration of each child present. Here ice cream, cakes, candy and fruit were served. The little hostesses received many well wishes for their birthdays and were the recipients of lovely and useful gifts.

Ackerman Street, on which the citizens and the city dads together spent a lot of money last spring, is now the worst street in Rockdale. Either the quality of the surfacing material used was unusually bad or else it was improperly handled, for the street in now nothing more than a series of bumps and holes. In the opinion of The Reporter the material was poor quality surface stuff, and it look now as if the only was to remedy it will be to plow up this street after it rains, regrade it and surface with either gravel or schist. Something should be done at the earliest possible time to protect the money already spent on Ackerman Street.
