FALLING FAR FROM THE TREE
As an officer in the Rockdale Downtown Association, I want to thank everyone for coming to Thursday's annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Wolf Park. I was amazed at how many people showed up.
Thanks to members of the Milam County Sheriff's Office and the Rockdale Police Department who served the chili and fixings, the members of the RDA got to enjoy the evening. The boys Tiger varsity basketball team also volunteered to serve the hot chocolate and cookies and did a great job.
Thanks also to Climate Control AC & Heating for making the chili and to Rockdale Meat Market for donating the meat.
DJ Ant, Anthony Cortez, again provided Christmas music which really creates a nice atmosphere. And thanks to RIOT Platforms employees who assembled the huge tree and put the lights up all over downtown. It looks really nice already and there are more decorations to come. —kwc— This Sunday is Christmas at the Kay which is always a good time with great music from the Communities in Concert Band with special guests the choir from Rising Star Baptist Church. Attendance is free.
—kwc— December 7 will be a busy day with Breakfast with Santa at the Patterson Center from 8 to 11 a.m. The Lighted Christmas Parade starts at 6 p.m. after which there will be a Winter Wonderland at Wolf Park with a Christmas bazaar featuring food, music, kid's games and a craft market. All of these events are sponsored by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce.
