This spring, we are highlighting our Milam County 4-H seniors graduating in 2020.

We are so proud of these youth as they have worked very hard, for most of them, over 10 years in 4-H.

They have competed in numerous competitions and have gained life skills they will use their entire lives.

This week we are spotlighting Jacob Pedroza and John Hanke.

PEDROZA—Jacob Pedroza is a member of the Milam County 4-H Shooting Sports Club and Thorndale 4-H Club.

His main projects include shooting sports (10 years) and citizenship and civic education (13 years).

His current 4-H leadership positions include shooting sports club treasurer and Thorndale 4-H Club parliamentarian. Jacob is also very active

Jacob is also very active in varsity football, powerlifting, one act play, FFA, FFA creed speaking.

He has been named academic all-district.

Jacob plans to attend Texas State University in the fall and major in Ag Leadership and Communication.

His favorite 4-H memory was competing in shooting sports contests and going to summer camps. HANKE—John Hanke is

HANKE—John Hanke is a member of the Rockdale 4-H Club.

His projects include beef (4 years), sheep (2 years), and poultry/broilers (5 years).

His favorite activity is hunting.

John will be attending TSTC this fall and majoring in Automotive Technology.

John’s favorite 4-H memory:

“All the good times in the cattle barns-competing on all levels. That feeling of pride and accomplishment when all the hard work pays off. The good friends I made in the barns.”
