MISD REPORT

Our Veterans Day program that was held at our high school Friday. It was such an honor to host our veterans in our school and to show students what real heroes look like.

THANKS—In May, 2015 our community passed a bond and a few months later in September passed a Tax Ratification Election, which allowed us to do a tax swap, helping our district financially.

Having moved into our new facilities, I am very humbled by and thankful for the overwhelming support shown by our community.

These new facilities will address the core educational needs of our students for years to come. This solidifies the fact that our community values children and their future. Thank you to those who took the time to vote, ask questions, share our vision and encourage along the way.

SPORTS—Our football and volleyball teams made it to the playoffs once again this season. Our varsity boys football team will play Mason in the bi-district playoff round on Friday night in Burnet.

Our cross country squad had a great season as well, with senior Parker Jones, winning the regional silver medal at the State Cross Country meet.

PRIDE—One of the things I am very proud of is our drum line.

While we do not have band, a group of students took it upon themselves to get a sponsor and administrative approval to form a drum line for football games. They are awesome.

Our Junior High One Act Play troupe is busy preparing for their district competition, which will take place this week.

The future of our theater department looks very bright with these young thespians coming up to high school in the near future.

These are just a few examples of Milano ISD students who represent Milano ISD the right way.

I could not be more proud and grateful.
