RISD REPORT
The ACE iTigers Programs continue to play an important role in supporting our students on all campuses in the Rockdale Independent School District.
This week iTigers coordinator at Rockdale Junior High School, Mrs. Leesa Perez, has information regarding the upcoming spring semester.
Greetings from your Rockdale ISD ACE (iTigers) Program.
It is difficult to believe that we have finished up the first semester of school just before school let out for the holidays.
Students and staff have been working hard throughout our district, to ensure that maximum learning is occurring in each classroom, and we are proud of the efforts being made.
Though the first half of the school year is over, we still have many things to look forward to when we return for the second half of the year next week.
Upon our return from winter break, we will be embarking on a new year, with lots of learning still in store.
School will resume for students on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
The new semester of iTigers set to begin on Monday, Jan. 13.
We would like to remind students and parents that this upcoming semester is critical.
State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test is upon us, and teachers will be working hard to make sure that students are prepared.
We have certified teachers and staff willing to work extended hours in order to help your student achieve success.
Please encourage your student to take advantage of the help being offered to them before and after school.
There is a lot of emphasis placed on academics in our after school program, but we also like to provide students with some fun, enrichment time, as well.
Each campus works hard to provide fun activities for the second session, all of which are designed to meet the interests and needs of the campus’ specific age group.
In addition, when your student stays for the enrichment session, they are provided with a meal, free of charge, as well as bus transportation home, if they are eligible for that service.
In order to receive meal and transportation services, we do require an ACE registration form be turned in to the coordinator at each campus.
Students at the elementary and intermediate school must be invited to attend iTigers.
But the junior high and high school programs are available to all RISD junior high and high school students.
We would love to have your student learn and grow with us at our ACE programs.
Hope everyone is having a “Happy Holidays” from RISD to all of our students, families, and community members.
We look forward to seeing you all again net week when the spring semester gets underway.
I will leave you with this:
“I continue to believe that if children are given the necessary tools to succeed, they will succeed beyond their wildest dreams.”— David Vitter, Former U.S. Senator
