Isn’t she a beauty? Rockdale now has a new, big, beautiful Christmas tree in Wolf Park for the whole town to enjoy each holiday season.
The idea was conceived by the Rockdale Downtown Association with a lot of help from Chad Harris with Whinstone US.
“The Rockdale Downtown Association is extremely grateful to all of the businesses, organizations and individuals who donated to this project. Every dollar contributed helped us reach our goal of purchasing this magnificent symbol of the holiday spirit here in Rockdale. We believe this tree is something the entire community can be proud of,” said Kara Clore, RDA President.
Around 200 people came out to see the lighting of the tree on Thursday evening, and enjoyed free chili and hot chocolate provided by the RDA members and delicious coffee drinks from Chuck Wheeler with Rockdale Coffee Roasters.
Major sponsors of the tree are Atmos Energy, Attorneys of Texas Title, Bland Construction, Caffey Corner, Carol Matous-Jim Currey Realty, Citizens National Bank, Climate Control A/C & Heating, ESSMetron, H&K Electrical, IC Electric, Lancium, Mine Service, Miller-Starnes Chevrolet-Buick, Perry & Perry Builders, Priority Power Management, Rhodium Mining, Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, Rockdale Downtown Association, Rockdale Municipal Development District, Texas Electrical Services, The Reynolds Company and Whinstone US.
