Dear editor: Thank you to the Rockdale Hospital Board for allowing the public to come and speak on Oct. 15. Those who spoke were given three minutes each, yes, this included Judge Steve Young. The following questions and comments are not meant to be critical of the board. I believe the Hospital Board has good intentions. Why did the remodeling work for a new clinic begin before a meeting was held to decide how it would be paid for? Judge Young, I hope understands why some people had looks of “yeah, right” on their faces when he spoke of all the big things coming to Rockdale and Milam County. Examples being the plastics and Styrofoam plants and Bitmain not employing 400 to 500 people. I truly do hope new business does come for the sake of Milam County. No new taxes, please.
