What an operation they have going on at the KC Hall for their Lenten fish fries. It was run like a well-oiled machine and it was fun watching all of them do their jobs.
The only thing I didn’t get a photo of were the finished plates. I wonder if Connie Schielack noticed that I stole her photo right off Facebook to use in the paper? Thanks
Connie!

And last but not least I want to give a shout out to the Thursday Reading Club for their Bootsie Peebles Memorial Scholarship. I have so many good memories of Bootsie and Sam so I’m glad these ladies are remembering her in this way.
Supported through contributions and memorials to the Thursday Reading Club, the Bootsie Peebles Memorial Scholarship has a 52-year history of helping students achieve success in the medical field.
According to scholarship chairman, Linda Wilson, “The scholarship was instituted in 1969, and as of this year has helped 52 students in pursuit of an education related to medicine. Those who received scholarships include five doctors, 22 RNs and LVNs, a radiologist, two pharmacists, a dental assistant, dental technician, paramedic, three instructors, a clinical psychologist, dentist, physician’s assistant, occupational therapist and physical therapist.”
Application forms are available to high school seniors and adults in the community pursuing an education in a field related to medicine and may be picked up at The Rockdale Reporter or high school counselor’s offices in Rockdale, Thorndale and Milano. Deadline for completed applications is Wednesday, April 20.
