What is your opinion of astrology? I’m not sure where I stand, but I do check my horoscope every once in a while. Also, all traits that astrology assigns to Virgos, which is my sign, are absolutely true in my case. Both the good and the bad.
Astrology is defined as, "the divination of the supposed influences of the stars and planets on human affairs and terrestrial events by their positions and aspects."
And it’s been around a lot longer than I thought. Astrology got its beginnings around 3000 BC in Mesopotamia. From there, different cultures took the Babylonian beliefs and created their own beliefs and rules. Greece, for example, combined characters from Greek mythology with star signs. India and China combined religion and superstition with astrology in an effort to make it relatable to the local public. Many of the first scientists in medieval Europe were astrologers or astronomers, and while some people look down on it as a pseudoscience now, it was a highly valued profession at the time.
If you happen to know any nurses, they will tell you that when the moon is full the emergency room gets crazy. Astrology explains this phenomenon in the same way the moon has an effect on the tides. Your body is mostly water so it could make sense that the full moon has an effect on you too.

Now here is a really ominous thing I read about recently having to do with astrology. On average, empires last about 250 years. The U.S. is quickly approaching the 250 year mark. The planet Pluto controls transformation and destruction according to astrology. It’s about to return to exactly where it was 250 years ago. That raised my eyebrows. I’m certainly hoping for transformation rather than destruction.
On average it is said that about one third of Americans believe and follow astrology. There are so many degrees to which you can have involvement in it. If you’re really into it you can have a star chart made, but you have to know the exact time of day you were born. A star chart will tell you a lot of things about yourself and your life now and into the future, if you believe that kind of thing.
To me it’s just a fun and interesting thing to read about, but I won’t be changing any of my day to day routine after reading my horoscope.
