FALLING FAR FROM THE TREE
To those of you who pick your paper up on the newsstands, CEFCO Convenience Stores has decided to stop selling all newspapers. So you can no longer pick up a Reporter at any of Milam County’s CEFCO stores. But they are available in Rockdale at numerous other places.
The bad news for our readers in Cameron, Buckholts, Lexington, Milano and Thorndale is that it is no longer cost effective for us to deliver to any of those cities.
Your best bet is to subscribe. If you’re in Milam County, it is only $40 per year which is like getting 12 weeks free if you pick up from the newsstand each week.
So give us a call at 512446-5838 to subscribe so you don’t miss out on any news. Our electronic edition comes on Wednesdays to your email for $35. —kwc— Attention parents and grandparents of graduating RHS seniors: I have seen some of your photos online and I apologize that my giant body was in the way at the Awards Program last week. There are some photos that I took in the paper this week but I am going to put all of them on The Reporter’s Facebook page so you can get them from there. Again, my apologies. —kwc— A fundraiser benefiting The 1895 will be held at the Kay Theater on Saturday, July 1 at 7 p.m. so mark your calendars for that. The event is called Brooke Graham and Friends Songwriters Showcase.
In addition to Brooke there will also be Charlie Bishop, Stacie Crocker, Billy Gage, Eric Hamilton and Charlie Weyler.
Tickets are $20 in advance, and they will have a cash bar serving wine and beer.
We will have more information on this event in upcoming issues. —kwc— Below you will see a column from our late editor, Mike Brown.
We miss him around here and I’m sure our readers do too.
