Dear editor,
It’s a shame that COVID-19 stole much of the limelight from Rockdale and Milam County’s usual Memorial Day honors and activities.
I know that the Rockdale’s ISD students and local veterans groups miss honoring the veterans by their memorial flag placements in the three city cemeteries.
Thanks go to Donna Diver and the VFW auxiliary for the placement of the 341 flags at their post. When I asked Donna why 341, thinking that it must have some sort of important significance, she replied “that’s all that we had! We need new flags.”
Thanks go to Reporter Editor Mike Brown, for the well researched and most respectful “Plot F, Row 6, Grave 31” article in the June 4 Reporter.
These gentleman made the ultimate sacrifice for Rockdale, Milam County and their country.
Thankfully, Adolph McVoy survived D-Day and returned home.
Respectfully,
Jack Brooks,
