CAMERON—Twelve persons were sentenced during the past two weeks in 20th District Court activity, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey:

• Robert Edward Cairns, III, 53, Dovers, five-year prison term after pleading “no contest” to sexual assault of a child. He was also sentenced to a five-year prison term for a second count of sexual assault of a child.

• Kelly Wallace, 49, Rock-dale, two-year prison term for possession of controlled substance (1-4 grams). Wallace was also placed on 10 years deferred adjudication for a possession of controlled substance (4-200 grams) in drug-free zone.

• Anthony Shane Murdoch, 22, Kempner, six-month county jail term after pleading “true” to a motion to revoke probation for an original Class A misdemeanor, attempted possession of marijuana (4 ounces to 5 pounds).

• Shyla Lashay Cole, 26, Houston, six-month state jail term after pleading “true” to a motion to revoke probation on an original case of possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).

• Michael Burden Cunningham, 51, Rockdale, was sentenced to one day in the county jail for possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).

• Carl Alan Groendes, 31, Rockdale, was placed on three years deferred adjudication, including successful completion of drug education course and substance evaluation along with any recommended treatment and was fined $2,500 after pleading guilty to possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).

• Thomas George Walker, 67, Round Rock, fined $2,500 and ordered to pay $500 restitution to Texas Parks and Wildlife after pleading guilty to a lesser included Class A misdemeanor, attempted taking wildlife resources without consent.

• Kevin Leo Rubio, 30, Rockdale, was placed on five years deferred adjudication probation, fined $2,500 and assessed $180 restitution to the DPS lab after pleading guilty to possession of controlled substance (4-200 grams).

• Michael Wayne Speer, 32, Troy, was placed on one year deferred adjudication, ordered to successfully complete anger management classes and assessed 100 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a lesser included Class A misdemeanor, assault causing bodily injury.

• Juan Louise Hernandez, 30, Taylor, was placed on five years deferred adjudication, assessed 140 days in the county jail as a condition of probation, fined $2,000 and ordered to pay restitution to victims in an amount to be determined to the victims after pleading guilty to burglary of habitation.

• Marcos Ortiga-Chirino, 26, Austin, was placed on 10 years deferred adjudication, assessed 108 days in the county jail and fined $2,500 after pleading guilty to a possession of identifying information, 10-50 items.

• Tammy K. Turner, 50, Gause, was placed on 10 years deferred adjudication, assessed advanced anger management classes and fined $3,000 fine after pleading guilty to aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

• Jason Daniel Taylor, 27, Rusk, was sentenced to six months in state jail after pleading “true” to a motion to revoke probation for burglary of a building.
