As has been the case in recent years, Rockdale’s annual Earth Day observance will be more like Earth Month.

While Monday, April 22, is the big day, with service projects in many areas of town, there will be a month’s worth of activities, including the annual spring Stash Your Trash Event by the City of Rockdale.

There has already been one Earth Day event. The traditional post contest by Lani Young’s art students at Rockdale Junior-High School drew 11 contestants and, for the first time produced two winners.

Art by Miranda Muegge and Emmaline Hollinger (left to right, above), shared the top award and are being used to promote Earth Day 2019.

Monday (April 1) is the deadline to enter the annual Earth Day coloring contest for pre-school through fifth grade.
