POLICE REPORT
A call to police Friday night reporting someone “cutting doughnuts” with a vehicle on a Rockdale Youth Baseball Association field off Wilcox Avenue resulted in a child endangering charge being filed against a Rockdale woman.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said when Ofc. Robert Remaley arrived on the scene he found five underage children in the pickup which had been the source of the complaint.
The driver, 31-year-old Andrias Shauntai Stephens. was charged with abandon/ endangering a child criminal negligence and no driver’s license.
She was released after posting $5,000 bond.
ARREST—A traffic stop ended in a drug arrest Sunday, according to police.
Louis Taylor Gaines, 40, was charged with tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, possession of marijuana (less than two ounces), possession of a controlled substance (1 to 4 grams) and possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram).
He remains in custody on $48,500 bond.
INJURIES—Two vehicle collisions Friday resulted in three persons being taken to area hospitals, police said.
Drivers in a 2:46 p.m. collision at Walmart were listed as Brenda Crump and Patricia DeLeon, both of Rockdale.
A three year-old child was taken to McLane Children’s’ Hospital in Temple. Goodrich said injuries were not believed to be serious.
Both drivers were checked over at Little River Hospital-Rockdale after a 3:31 p.m. collision at Quality Inn.
Police listed drivers as Betty Johnson of Houston and Makayla Wardlow of Rockdale.
