Rockdale police arrested a 15-year-old male Friday in what they believe will be the first of several arrests in a number of local crimes.

The juvenile was charged with two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and one count of burglary of a vehicle.

“There have been a number of vehicles taken over the past few weeks,” Lt. Stephen Goodrich said. “We believe there are several people involved in this and this is only the first of what we think will be a number of arrests.”

“This is also in connection with a break-in at the Rockdale Youth Baseball Association several weeks ago in which a building was vandalized,” he said.

Goodrich said a number of warrants have been issued in connection with the incidents.

“We believe there are more juveniles involved and also some young adults, 17 and 18-year-olds,” he said.

ARRESTS—Police were called to a local business last Wednesday afternoon in connection with an incident involving an attempt to purchase some tires.

It led to the arrest of 21-year-old Devin Nicholas Bracy of Pearland.

He was charged with credit card or debit card abuse, possession of marijuana (less than two ounces), false driver’s license/ID.

Bracy was released after posting $8,500 bond.

Anthony Edwin Bohot, 40, of Rockdale, was charged with possession of controlled substance (less than one gram) in a drug-free zone.

He remains in custody on $10,000 bond.

OFFENSES—Police said other investigations begun during the past week included disorderly conduct, violation of city ordinance, failure to sex offender duty to register, fictitious license plate, assault by contact/ threat and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

ACCIDENTS—No traffic accidents were reported during the past seven days inside the city limits.

CITATIONS—Pol ic e issued 11 traffic citations during the past week including four for speeding, three for failure to maintain financial responsibility and one each for driving while license invalid, expired driver’s license, driving without a license and running a red light.
