POLICE REPORT

Rockdale Police said two traffic stops “for very minor offenses” turned into arrests for drugs and felon in possession of a stolen gun during the past week.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said a Thursday stop resulted in a vehicle search after an officer observed what he termed “suspicious behavior on the part of passengers.

“A search revealed a meth pipe and a quantity of methamphetamine,” Goodrich said.

Damion Duran, 26, of Deer Park was charged with possession of controlled substance (less than one gram). He was released from the Milam County Jail after posting $4,000 bond.

A second unrelated incident was reported Sunday night.

Lt. Goodrich began a search after the traffic stop recovered a firearm which had been reported stolen by an out-of county agency.

Alejandro Romero-Domingues, 34, of Georgetown was charged with theft of firearm.

Booking information was not yet available as of The Reporter’s early deadline on Monday afternoon.

ACCIDENTS—There were no traffic accidents reported within the Rock-dale city limits during the six-day reporting period.

INCIDENTS—Offenses reported to police during the week included vehicle burglary, driving while license suspended, expired license no driver’s license, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and theft (less than $100).

CITATIONS—Police issued 41 citations during the past week, including 22 for speeding, six for displaying expired registration, four for no driver’s license, two for driving with license invalid and one each for failure to report change of address/ name, failure to maintain financial responsibility, violation of open container law, theft and violation of city ordinance.

SERVICE CALLS— Officers responded to 110 calls for service during the week and there were 62 calls received through the 911 system.
