A woman came to the Rockdale Police Department to make an ‘outcry’ to authorities about an incident several years ago and a former Rockdale resident has been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child.

Brandon Shane Whit-mire, 36, of Jasper was arrested Friday and was released after posting $20,000 bond.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said the complainant was 15 at the time of the incident.

EVADING—Goodrich said Johnny Aaron Morales, 28, of Rockdale, was arrested April 4 by Ofc. Michael Hubnik and charged with evading arrest/detention with vehicle.

He remains in custody on $15,000 bond. Goodrich said the incident began and ended on Belton Avenue.

ACCIDENTS—Police said vehicles operated by Janie Mendoza and Zena-ta Bowens of Rockdale and Teddy Warren of Milano were in collision at 5:30 p.m. April 4 in the 400 block of West Cameron Avenue (US 79).

Damage estimates were not available from police.

Minor damages were reported at 12:29 p.m. Friday in a two-vehicle collision in the Brookshire Bros parking lot.

Drivers were listed as Calvin Springer of Rock-dale and Luther Bratcher of Tyler.

Police investigated a hit-and-run collision at 5:04 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Burleson.

According to police, a parked vehicle was struck by a pickup whose driver then left the scene.

Minor damages were reported.

OFFENSES—Offenses investigated by police during the week included assault, disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and theft.

Police made three arrests on felony warrants during the week.

SERVICE CALLS— Officers responded to 133 calls for service during the week and 80 calls were received through the 911 system.

CITATIONS—Police issued 71 citations during the past week, including 47 for speeding and five related to animals at large and no proof of vaccination for rabies.
