POLICE REPORT
A call reporting a person sleeping in a vehicle Friday ended with two charges being filed against a Rock-dale man.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Ofc. Johnathan Richardson responded to the site and found two persons asleep in the vehicle.
“During questioning the male subject was discovered to have a bag of what the officer believed to be drugs,” Goodrich said. “A scuffle occurred and the arrest was made.”
Isiah Thompson, 29, of Rockdale, was charged with tampering with physical evidence with intent to impair and resisting arrest, search or transport.
He remained in custody at presstime Tuesday in lieu of $25,000 bond.
ARREST—In the only other felony arrest of the six-day reporting period, 44-year-old Corey Twain McIrvin of Rockdale was arrested on a parole violation/DWI charge from Lee County.
He remains in custody. Bond was denied.
ACCIDENTS—Police investigated two traffic accidents during the past week within the Rockdale city limits.
A two-vehicle accident was reported at 4:58 a.m. Saturday in the Brookshire Bros. parking lot.
Drivers were listed as Sylvester Herrera Jr. and Jose Aboyes, both of Rock-dale.
Damages were termed minor to both vehicles.
Minor damages were reported at 4:50 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of West Bell in a two-vehicle collision, police said.
Drivers were listed as Rene Perez and James Williams, both of Rockdale.
OFFENSES—Police investigated as assault causing bodily injury involving juveniles during the week.
A leaf blower was reported stolen in the 2000 block of Skyles, police said.
CITATIONS—Police issued 11 speeding tickets during the week along with one each for no driver’s license and driving the wrong way on a one-way roadway.
One citation was issued for assault by contact/ threat.
SERVICE CALLS—
Officers responded to 122 calls for service during the past sis days and there were 96 calls received through the 911 emergency reporting system.
