That was the consensus of the more than 125 who attended a first-of-its kind “Pray for Rockdale” event Good Friday afternoon at Tiger Field. Rev. Royal Johnson of Rising Star Baptist Church (center, bottom photo) said the turnout included numerous Rockdale congregations and those attending felt “something happened today.” Numerous local ministers came forward to participate in prayers including Rev. Dennis Brooks (L) of New Jerusalem Christian Center and Rev. Stephen Ammons of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.” Rev. Johnson said more prayer events of some kind will follow.
