From County Judge Steve Young Monday night:
Today we have ten new cases confirmed cases of the virus to report in Milam County. Three were admitted to hospitals and two were discharged.
The Cities and the County of Milam are working together to provide free testing for any Milam County resident who has symptoms. Tomorrow testing will be done in Thorndale at the fire station; Milano and Gause on Wednesday; Cameron on Thursday and Buckholts on Friday. Rockdale is set for Monday, but next Monday is a holiday, so the first testing there will be on September 14, 2020. Below is the testing schedule for this week:
- Testing for Wednesday:
- Milano, 8:00 a.m. – Noon, Milano Fire Station, 305 E. US 79;
- Gause, 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Gause Fire Station,110 E. Gause Blvd.
- Testing for Thursday:
- Cameron, 8:00 a.m. – :3:00 p.m., Cameron Fire Station, 1505 N. Travis
- Testing for Friday:
- Buckholts, 8:00 a.m. – Noon, 111 W. Main St
- Testing for Monday:
- Rockdale, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., former Richards Memorial Hospital
i. There will be no testing on Monday, September 7, 2020 due to the holiday
Milam County Cases:
- Confirmed cases 440 – up 10
- Active cases 26 up 8
- Probable cases 24 – no change
- Monitored individuals 51 up 16
- Total monitored 803
- Hospitalized 5 – up 3 (two are in serious condition)
- Total hospitalized since March 41
- Fatalities 5 – no change
