TEMPLE—Approximately 525 Temple College students received associate degrees and certificates at the 83rd annual commencement program May 16 at the Frank and Sue Mayborn Campus Center in Belton. (*-honor grads.)

Burrough graduates from Texas State

Cody Brad Burrough graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos May 15 with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy.

He is the son of Ronnie and Sandra Burrough and the grandson of Frank and Evelyn Burrough and R.C. and Jeanette Patschke, all of Rockdale. Cody resides in San Marcos and is currently employed with Physical Therapy Rehab Concepts.

Randall receives UT bachelor's degree

Annamarie Randall graduated from the University of Texas on May 22 as a distinguished scholar with a bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development (education).

She is the daughter of Alvina and Scott Randall of Rockdale and the granddaughter of Jo and Ted Randall of Rockdale and the late Catarino and Carolina Montelongo.

Ex-Milano student is GRHS valedictorian

Kayla Westbrook, formerly of Milano, is the class of 2009 valedictorian for Grandfalls-Royalty High School.

Her parents are Robert and Kimberly Westbrook. Her grandparents are Charles Phillips of Grandfalls, and the late Gwen Phillips and the late E.C. and Shirley Westbrook.

TAKS, TAAS exit retest offered at RISD

Rockdale High School w ill offer the TAKS and TAAS Retest Exit Level Exams in July 2009, according to RISD Testing Coordinator Cathy Ormsby.

Tests dates for TAKS are July 14 (ELA), July 15 (mathematics), July 16 (science) and July 17 (social studies). TAAS dates are July 14-16 (writing, mathematics and reading respectively).

Individuals who are no longer enrolled in school and who have not previously met minimum expectations on all sections of the TAKS or TAAS test, but who have met all other graduation requirements, may register to retake the necessary sections, Ormsby said.

All out-of-school TAKS and TAAS examinees must complete a registration form and may do so online at http://k12testing. tx.ncspearson.com or by contacting Ormsby at 512-430-6144.

The paper registration form must be received in Austin no later than 5 p.m. Friday, June 12. Registered or certified mail is recommended when registration forms are mailed.
