RJH to promote 115 eighth graders in Friday ceremonies

Breithaupt Breithaupt Speeches by valedictorian Breann Breithapt and salutatorian Caroline Wilde will highlight promotion exercises for Rockdale Junior-High School's Class of 2009, set for 10 a.m. Friday in the junior-high gymnasium, according to Principal Brent Kirkpatrick.

Breithaupt posted a 4.337 grade-point average in her threeyear RJH academic career. She is the daughter of Teresa Breithaupt and Billy Breithaupt.

Wilde's average was 4.300. She is the daughter of Doug and Leann Wilde.

Kirkpatrick said averages of more than 4.0 are possible due to "weighted" honors courses. There are 115 eighth-graders being promoted, including 37 honor students.

Certificates will be presented by Kirkpatrick, assisted by Kurt Streck, assistant principal, and Angela White, counselor.

The processional, national anthem, RJH school song and recessional will be presented by the RJH Big Gold Band, under the direction of Dee Spencer.

William Dean will open the ceremony and Kaley Dodd will lead the pledge to the American and Texas flags.

Ethan Brinkley will close the ceremony.H
