Jubilee Days rodeo to bring back mutton bustin', double mugging
Rockdale's annual summertime Jubilee Days will be held June 3 through 6 at Fair Park.
Team roping w ill be held Wednesday, June 3, barrel racing on Thursday, June 4. A full rodeo will be held June 5 and 6.
Organizers will also bring back mutton bustin' for the youth.
Other activities will include a barbeque cookoff and a tractor pull, both scheduled for Saturday, June 6.
Featured entertainment will have a local f lavor as Lange Debault and his band take the stage on Friday night and Cody Hughes Davidson performs at the Saturday night dance.

Leroy Stephens gave a brief schedule for the four-day event:
• Wednesday, June 3—Team roping
• Thursday, June 4—Barrell racing
• Friday, June 5—7 p.m. mutton bustin; 8 p.m. rodeo; dance with Lange Debault
• Saturday, June 6—9 a.m., Central Professional Rodeo Association team roping; 12-noon, tractor pull; 7 p.m., mutton bustin'; 8 p.m., rodeo; dance with Cody Hughes Davidson.
'Bustin' and mugging'
Mutton bustin' signup starts at 6:30 p.m. each night in front of rodeo arena concession stand. The event is open to children weighing under 50 pounds. Sponsor is Milam County Livestock Auction in Cameron.
The first 30 to sign up will ride at 7 p.m. with top 5 to ride again during the rodeo. Winners each night will get a trophy/belt buckle. No pre-entries accepted and entry fee is $10 each.
Rodeo organizers are also adding a new event, "double mugging" (like calf roping with larger cattle) open to all local cowboys.
The event will be held June 5 and 6. There will be a $60 entry fee with 10 teams performing each night with the rest competing during slack after the show. Call-in is 6-9 p.m. Monday June 1. Call Daniel Garrison at 512- 657-1666.
Tickets go on sale next week at various locations around town. Advanced tickets are $10 adults, $5 12-and-under and senior citizens. On Friday, advanced ticket prices rise to $15. Onenight tickets at the gate are $10 each night.
